Fun, engaging announcement video for 4-5 Gray's Inn Square barrister's chambers

Short, informal and engaging video for a London barrister’s chambers

Introduction

At Wildings Studio in South Devon we produce marketing and PR videos for London barrister’s chambers, helping them be less formal and more engaging.

This little promotion announcement video for 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square followed on from our showcase video at its 'Homelessness, Housing & Allocations' conference in October 2019 in Holborn, London.

4-5 Gray’s Inn Square, a leading barrister’s chambers in London, commissioned us again to produce a short, fun and engaging video to announce the internal promotion of a member of staff to the position of senior clerk.

It was again optimised for social media, particularly LinkedIn, to raise the profile of the chambers in a way that marked it apart from other chambers and produced engagement in its target audience.

Production notes

From Rachael

  • It was a massive bonus having professional photos on hand from the talented Jon Bradley Photography who had previously spent time with the team

  • Based on his work, I chose to go with a blend of photo and video elements, but with a strong nod to the traditional ‘contact sheet’

  • This gave it a touch of the traditional while allowing me to bring some more fun and contemporary elements

  • Using the clipped stop motion segments allowed me to give it a nice bouncy pace, ensuring it was short and sharp for sharing on social media

  • Another brilliant premium soundtrack from Soundstripe gave it the final flourish

  • I also incorporated some footage from a previous event at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square that complemented the celebration feel - did you spot the champagne bottle opening?

A visual by Rach for 4-5’s marketing in the form of a photographer’s ‘contact sheet’

From Simon

  • 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square wanted to increase its presence and engagement on social media, so we also tracked the metrics of the post on LinkedIn

  • The results were impressive and demonstrate the power of quality content when deployed well, producing engagement and results for the business

  • There were a couple of posts that went out, and these stats are from one

  • Rach also put together an announcement graphic in the form of a ‘contact sheet’, which complemented the chamber’s marketing alongside its video

How it performed

We have yet to compile the official results from the main post by 4-5 on LinkedIn, but have written up some initial results based on Simon’s post on his personal LinkedIn profile:

  • After just under a week, the video post was viewed 1,440 times (number of times it was watched for at least three seconds)

  • It generated 14 reactions and three comments

  • Of the views, it attracted people from the following businesses: No5 Barristers' Chambers, 4-5 Gray's Inn Square (unsurprisingly), Doughty Street Chambers, 3 Verulam Buildings and Pret A Manger

  • 384 people with the title Lawyer viewed it, plus Legal Administrative Professionals, Partners, Consultants and Salesperson

  • 543 people who viewed it were from London, plus smaller numbers from other key cities, including Derby (yay!), Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham

  • Most importantly, the video and subsequent engagements on LinkedIn generated two warm business leads that have already been followed up by phone and proposals requested

The bottom line

  • As you can tell from the performance, short, fun videos on social media can work for you

  • They capture people’s attention, put you in the spotlight and can generate business

  • If you have a coherent strategy and plan for social media, you can generate business leads and win sales with this content

What they said

Vicky Thompson (formerly CEO at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square, now Gilbert Stephens Solicitors) was very happy with the video and simply said.

LOVE IT LARGE! Thank you so much.
